13 Ethiopians Held in Kirinyaga, Kenya

Police in Kirinyaga have arrested 13 foreigners of Ethiopian origin at Makutano roadblock. Officers stopped an over-loaded saloon car and asked the 13 passengers aged between 18 to 20-years to identify themselves.
The travellers, who were on their way to Nairobi, had no national Identity Cards and were immediately arrested along with the vehicle driver. Police said there is a huge cartel involving the ferrying of aliens from Ethiopia through Kenya to other African countries.
Central province administration police commandant Joseph Keitany said they are investigating the case and confirmed the route has been notorious in ferrying suspects to Nairobi and other parts of the region.
